POSTAGE & SHIPPING:
We are not a large mail order company with lots of staff. But we are a company that prides itself on sending goods the way we expect to receive them and we endeavour to process orders as quickly as possible providing we have the goods in stock or they are available from or suppliers. Orders are sent by first class post with a normal delivery time of 7-10 working days, providing the items are in stock. If the item is out of stock you will receive an email notifying you of a delay till we re-stock the item. Some items take up to 28 days to deliver due to a supply on demand basis by our suppliers & can take longer for overseas shipments.
All small orders will be posted via Royal Mail 1st Class to addresses within the UK, worldwide orders up to 2kgs in weight will be posted by Royal Mail small packet airmail. Large & bulky orders are sent by a trackable service provided by Interlink Express for UK & Worldwide.
Final postage costs on orders are calculated on individual item weight & are combined for multiple purchases. The delivery cost is what we get charged + packing costs. At present, royal mail have a very cost effective small package rate for worldwide postage up to 2kgs; this cheap rate is used when calculating postage for any international order up to 2kgs. Parcel Rates above 2kg up to 10kg are calculated using the cheapest possible option. LARGE items such as bicycles will be sent via Interlink Express for the UK & by FEDEX for worldwide. As shipping rates vary greatly for such large items, it is advisable to contact The old bicycle company before you purchase the item, so as a shipping rate can be found or alternatively the purchaser may use their own preferred shipping agent or UK courier or even collect the item in person from the old bicycle company at the address shown on the contacts page.
Please be aware that all shippers will calculate costs of shipping a large item on volumetric weight rather than just the total weight of the box. Overseas customers should also be aware of extra shipping costs such as taxes & import duty by Local Customs that may be incurred; The purchaser is responsible for all such costs.
RETURNS & REFUNDS:
Faulty goods cannot be refunded until they have been examined and a fault identified by The Old Bicycle Co. All goods will only be refunded if a valid receipt of purchase is presented with the items. Refunds will only be given if an item is returned within 10 days of purchase, the item has not be used and ALL packaging in intact enabling RE-SALE of the item. Please, if you find a fault with the item/s ordered, please let us know ASAP.
ORDERING THE CORRECT GOODS ?
Please make sure you are happy with your order before you proceed to pay for it! ie, you have the correct colour saddle, jersey size, bicycle or saddle model. It will save both you and us allot of time.
PAYMENT:
CREDIT CARDS: If you choose to pay by credit or debit card, just select this option on the final page of the checkout process. All orders paid for using this option are now processed using the Sagepay payment system. It is a well respected fast, effective and totally secure online payment system.
TELEPHONE: If you choose to pay for your order by telephone, just select this option on the final page of the checkout process, you will then be given instructions to call our office and your order will be processed by the Proprietor using our office PDQ card machine. The same type of machine used in every shop worldwide for taking card payments.
CHEQUE: If you choose to pay by cheque, just select this option on the final page of the checkout process, you will then be given instructions on whom to make the cheque out to and our postal address.
