This 1950 classic British bicycle has undergone some minor refurbishment in our workshop, turning it into a highly presentable and ridable bike. During its time with us we have re-taped the handle bars in a blue to match the paintwork, cleaned and polished the aluminium and chrome fixings, and fitted (including adjusting) a new Sturmey Archer 3-speed gear cable. The wheels have had new Schwalbe 26x 1.1/4 tyres fitted front and rear, and new inner-tubes.
Original features include the manufactures transfers, most of which are still clearly visable, including the headbadge. The Alloy G.B Hiduminim caliper brakes, 3-speed Sturmey Archer hub, Durax Chainset with 7" cranks, and 'Allez!' touring pedals all sit beautifully on the 23" frame.
Some areas of the bicycle do need further attention to bring it up to a perfect standard, such as the 2 cracks in the cream mudguards, noticeably where they attatch to the front forks.
The original saddle on this bicycle had to be unfortunately replaced due to a non-repairable broken nose. However, it has been replaced with a brand new Brooks B17 standard, in Black, which matches the colour schemes followed in the tyres and brake levers.
