A c.1965 Carlton Cycles of Worksop "The Flyer" with frame # S288. 23.1/2" frame built with reynolds 531 lightweight tubing. This bicycle is in beautiful condition for its age retaining its original flamboyant bronze enamel with green and white panels. Lugs are lined in white and the bicycle still retains its original transfers including a CTC (cyclists touring club) and Southern Veteran Cycle club transfers. The bicycle is however not mint and does have some marks particularly behind the saddle post tube where a brooks saddle bag support seems to have been fitted. Some fading to the paint in places is also evident, but altogether it is in fine condition and has a beautiful patina.

British Hub Company Large flange Airlite hubs, 27" x 1.1/4" weinmann alloy rims, new schwalbe amber wall tyres, weinmann type 730 alloy caliper brake set with brown rubber brake lever hoods, GB "maes" type handle bars with the GB logo and a map of Great Britain engaved, GB 110mm reach handle bar stem with GB pinch bolt, Brooks Team professional brown leather saddle with large copper rivets, alloy saddle post (marked as always), Original Bluemels "Club Special" celliloid mudguards in green to match the green panels on the frame, Lapize alloy pump (with tiny dent), williams 48tooth chainset running to a 24/14 5 speed block with Campagnolo Gran Sport rear derailleur, campagnolo gear change lever, Allez alloy quill type pedals with Atos (England) chrome toe clips.
A fine English 1960's racing bicycle with lots of charm and patina and ready to go to the next custodian.
