A kit of original parts for restoration of a Hillman, Herbert & Cooper "Premier" penny farthing bicycle. 52" front wheel. Kit comprises of original frame to include front forks and handle bars, spine with mounting step, original saddle leaf spring and rear forks. Condition is generally pitted, but seemingly sound and restorable. Remains of the old front bearings are with the kit, but are only for reference as they are beyond use. Reproduction bearing casings using modern roller bearings have been made and require finishing, but will help put this old bicycle back on its wheels. The front hub is the original and has bronze flanges and the kit comes with a reproduction front rim which has been drilled to match the front hub. The old cranks are with the bike, but are very pitted, they could be restored or can be used as patterns for reproductions. Also with the project is a pair of reproduction wooden handlebar grips and a photocopy of an original catalogue for the company which lists all the bicycles the company made at the time. A nice project for the enthusiast and some engineering work needed, but the end result will be very rewarding.
