Description

This Raleigh racer from around 1920 (Frame No: 684222) is in amazing original condition, with aged Nickel plating and remains of transfers still visable.

The bicycle has a 24" (62.5cm) Frame with the elegant sloping top tube, giving the bicycle a real racing look. The drop bars of 20.1/2" width, show original aged Nickel plating, complete with the Raleigh 'R' lamp braket. Original makers and suppliers transfers are still clearly visable.

The Wooden rims are of French origin, and are stamped reading "Americane - Jantes en Bois, Paris". They give this bicycle an early look and contrast the Black frame nicely. The size of the rims are 26 x 1.1/2" and have been fitted with new Michelin tires. The rear wheel has an original Raleigh Coaster hub fitted.

Other nice features about this bicycle include the original Raleigh Pump fitted to the Frame, Miller Seven 20 Black bell, and the Blumells 'Peerless' Celloid (an early form of plastic) mudguards and handle bar grips in Black - Another original feature in amazing condition. On the rear of the frame is an enamel CTC (Cyclists Touring Club) blue badge. Fitted to the front hub is a 'Veeder' cyclometer. This bicycle also included a Brooks B17 Saddle and Leather frame tool bag.

Please Note: The original pedals are with this bicycle, however they are not shown in the pictures.

Altogether this rare, handsome bicycle contains many original features and is in Timewarp condition.

SORRY, THIS BICYCLE IS NOW SOLD.
