Zefal's roots go back to 1880. A French company called Poutrait-Morin (which one century later would become part of ZEFAL) starts to manufacture bicycle accessories. Goods include foot rests, brake calipers, lamp brackets. Later with the invention of the inner tube, Poutrait-Morin would develop the Presta valve and go on to manufacture bicycle pumps.
