Description

For sale here is a 2007 track bicycle manufactured with the iconic Hetchins logo. Built by 'David Miller Lightweights' whom carry on the Hetchins name and flame. Made from Columbus 'Genius' steel tubing the 21" frame proves to be extremely light-weight however still featuring high levels of strength and rigidity. The rear chain-stays have the famous curled lines and all the lugs are highly intricate with Magnum-opus mug-work.

The bicycle is currently built up as a Fixed Wheel track racer, with Campagnolo 53 tooth chainset with 6.1/2 cranks. Geared with a 22 tooth rear fixed sprocket, it really is built up purely for high speeds! Other Campagnolo components on the bicycle include the large flange rear hub, the head-set, and the front brake (this bicycle only has a front brake) with centre mounted lever. The front hub unfortunately doesnt match the rear, being a large flange Airlite hub, with slightly different design.

The front and rear wheels are built up from 'Super Champion' competetion rims, fitted with Continental 'Sprinter' 27" by 22mm tyres (both in like-new condition). The spokes have been soldered to increase wheel ridigity.

The handlebar stem is an earlier Cinelli design, with fantastic original chrome work and brass badge with the original cinelli logo. With the stem's 120mm reach and track drop bars left in plain chrome, there is a large drop for the rider as is common with track racers of this sort.

Other features include the lightweight titanium Selle Italia 'Kevlar' saddle - fitting in well with the lightweight theme of this bicycle.
