We have great pleasure in offering you the chance to own an unspoilt clubmans racing bicycle made by Holdsworth in 1947. This La Quelda racing bicycle is one owner from new whom bought just the frame set new in 1947 and then built the bicycle up using componants of the time to his own specification and rode it in club runs and CTC rides. In about 1953 he sent the framset back to holdsworth for refurbishment and a refinish. This is the paintwork you see today. The Chromework was not touched. It has a 23" filet brazed lugless frame with box lining and transfers, 27" x 1.1/4" Dunlop Special lightweight wheels with double butted spokes and Baylis Wiley large flange hubs and brand new Michelin world tour amber wall tyres. Cyclo 3 speed rear gear with a double williams chainset on the front running on 1/8" chain and opporated by a cyclo Benelux front gear. Strata alloy pedals with GB professional chrome toes clips. GB Hiduminium caliper brakes and levers. Beautiful Brooks B17 leather saddle in 1st class condition. Beautiful all alloy saddle post clip/clamp. Deep and wide bailey type chrome bars and chrome stem. Constrictor front fork mounted lamp bracket, Bluemels Clubman mudguards which match the colour of the frame set. All in great condition for its age apart from a small dent in the cross bar. Having met the original owner, whom is now 85 and going on strong at the time of writing, it makes a bicycle like this all the more personal. It is not just a bicycle.
